SentryBay secures anti-phishing patent.
LONDON: SentryBay Limited announced today that it has been granted a US patent covering its proprietary anti-phishing technology, “PhishLock”.
The patent covers all the key aspects of SentryBay’s PhishLock technology including the fingerprinting of a web page on which the technology has been trained – thus preventing unlimited attacks on that brand in real time. This means that any end user protected by the technology can be prevented from accessing a phishing site the very first time any user attempts to access the site – therefore from the moment an attack is launched.
The PhishLock technology can be run from any end user device, from a gateway-based appliance or from the cloud. The PhishLock engine can also be licensed for use by a third-party solution provider – all that is required is the feed of urls in real time.
The PhishLock technology is embodied within a number of SentryBay’s solutions including the Data Protection Suite, Armored Browser and Mobile Security Suite. It is also included within a number of white-labelled solutions including products used by American Express, Europ Assistance, Barclays, Affinion, Gemalto and AOL.
Further extensions to PhishLock are to be announced later in 2014.
